We met working at the Outer Banks Brewing Station in Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina. Hunter was a waitress and Tripper was a line cook. Every Sunday we would go bowling with our coworkers. The first Sunday we went together. Tripper called out to Hunter and said “Hey Hunter, this one’s for you.” Tripper proceeded to roll and hit about three pens. Hunter found out later that Tripper was actually very good at bowling and was most definitely trying to hit a strike when dedicating the roll to her. Summer of 2018 is where our love story began. Working together, bowling on Sundays and going to the beach as often as we could. Bonnet Street will always hold a special place in our hearts.
Celebrating Hunter’s birthday weekend Tripper and her sister, Diane, planned a wonderful beach day on Kiawah Island, South Carolina. When going out onto the beach, Hunter proceeded to immediately go jump into the ocean. Coming back Diane and Tripper were worried about how to get Hunter back into her clothes in order to propose. Once she put her cover up on they convinced her to take some pictures by a beautiful picnic that they had arranged. Hunter walks over to the picnic and immediately sits down. With wet hair and not in position, this is not going as planned. Eventually Hunter stands, and Tripper get on one knee saying “I love you forever, will you marry me” The shock on Hunter’s face is priceless and of course she says yes! The beach had always been such a special place to us and even more so now.
