I was living in Chattanooga at the time, and Hunter was living in Fort Payne. Hunter and my sister both worked together at the Sheriff’s Office, and she kept telling me how cute (and single) Hunter was. We added each other on Facebook and I took a leap of faith and messaged him first. That’s something I never do, but now looking back on it, I am so thankful I did!
So Hunter and I both work night shift, and we had worked the night before the proposal. I left work in Chattanooga early that morning and drove to my parents house in Rainsville to stay for a few days. I had no idea Hunter was proposing this day. We had planned with our friend Sarah to take some pictures. We both only had around three house of sleep, I was super grumpy from barely sleeping all weekend of working, because your girl has to have her beauty sleep! I always take forever getting ready and Hunter asked if I could be ready thirty minutes earlier than I had planned, so I was rushing to get ready and go meet him. We get there and he told me to cheer up that our pictures were going to turn out great. After taking a few pictures, Sarah asked me to stand with my backed turned to her and she put Hunter behind me. I still wasn’t thinking anything about him proposing at this point. She told me to turn around, and when I did Hunter was down on one knee. I don’t even think I said yes I was so speechless. He did amazing on the ring, it’s so pretty and sparkly!
