If you are looking for a place to eat in Downtown Excelsior, Lagos is one of our faves, especially for Brunch (Sat/Sun 9am-11:30am) Hunt's fave: Chicken Tinga Tacos Shaz's fave: Beef & Potato Burrito w/ spicy arbol pepper sauce
The go-to lunch/dinner spot in Downtown Excelsior. We love Irish Pubs and we give this one a thumbs-up for the food and atmosphere. We recommend the Chicken Pot-Pie!!!
If you want to a beautiful view of Lake Minnetonka while you eat or have cocktails, go to Maynards. They have indoor seating and a big patio on the lake. Perfect for Happy Hour!
The state fair is a BIG deal here in Minnesota. The 2018 Minnesota State Fair runs Aug. 23 - Sept. 3 The things you have to do at the fair: 1. Sweet Martha's cookies. You get a cone stacked high with the most amazing chocolate chip cookies. Worth the wait in line, we promise. 2. Eat a corn-dog. Legend has it that they were invented at the Minnesota State Fair!
The mall is super close to the airport if you have time to kill before your flight out!
This is the place to go for artsy, handcrafted cocktails in the "Northeast District" of Minneapolis. Stop here if you're having a day exploring Minneapolis. They don't serve food, but they usually have food truck outside. If you take an Uber here, they might get confused because the entrance is located in the back of a big industrial warehouse.
St. Louis Park is a great neighborhood between Excelsior and downtown Minneapolis. Lake Calhoun has walking trails, golf courses and tons of places to shop and dine. We recommend guests stay in this area if you want to be centrally located closer to the city and airport. From here its a quick Uber ride to either downtown Minneapolis or Excelsior.
Full restaurant, breakfast lunch and dinner. One of our faves!
If you are looking to spend some time in nature, check out the Arboretum!
