Rachel and Hunter met in Chicago in 2020 like most twenty-somethings, on a dating app. It was serendipitous, that in the vast metropolitan area, their first date was exactly one mile from each of their apartments. During that first date, they related their similar upbringings in the Southeast and their experiences at SEC colleges with Rachel at Auburn and Hunter at Tennessee (fortunately neither attended Alabama).The deciding factor for a second date wasn’t the flowing conversation, half-priced Miller Lites, or their shared love of travel, it was the approval of Barkley, Rachel’s 145 pound Newfie. For Barkley, it was love at first “sit”, as he sat his full weight on Hunter’s feet as a sign of approval (as long as Hunter kept petting him!). For Hunter, it was more astonishment, as he had never seen such a large dog in a small apartment. From that day on, Hunter and Barkley were fast friends and the three were inseparable.After many adventures throughout the city and a few spontaneous out of town trips, Rachel and Hunter knew they shared an audacious spirit. After deciding that Chicago winters were too long and too cold, they packed up and moved to Nashville.While searching for a home, they discovered a 1928 duplex in dire need of renovation for sale in a wonderful neighborhood and decided to jump into the “deep end” of homeownership. The long process of the total renovation put their relationship to the test, but they learned a lot about each other and came out of it stronger and ready to take on anything. Through their love of travel, food, mezcal, and ambitious life goals, Rachel and Hunter are ready to truly merge their lives together and get married!
