During the summer of 2016, I lived with my dad at Smith Mountain Lake between my freshman and sophomore year of college, working at Smith Mountain Wake Company. One afternoon, Hunter and his friends came into the shop so that he could look at purchasing a wakeboard, in which he left with one. Right before he and his friends left, he walked up to me and introduced himself; I didn't really think anything of it and went home for the evening. The following day I was working and Hunter walked in the door, alone. He instantly sparked a conversation with me, while Ken (my boss) was helping another customer. The more we talked, I started to become more interested in getting to know him, and then (of course) Ken walked up and asked how he could help Hunter which cut our conversation short. While Hunter was talking with Ken, I was 'keeping myself occupied' but all I could think was how I hoped he would ask for my number before he left the shop. As I heard the men finishing their conversation, I quickly walked to the clothes rack near the front door and acted like I was rearranging the clothes, just to give him one last chance to ask for my number. About the time his hand hit the door to leave and I said "Have a nice....", he turned around, gave me a look I will never forget (the moment I knew he would forever be a part of my life) and he said "Hey, would you want to come out on the boat with us sometime?" About a month later, Hunter asked me if I would like to spend an evening with him, and we spent hours riding around with the windows rolled down discussing our past, the future and the things we dreamed of. Two and a half years later, I get to call the man of my dreams my fiancé.
