Meeting people in the middle of a pandemic was not the easiest situation. Dating apps seemed to be the only way to meet people at this point. It is really through pain, perseverance, and prayer that it all started to come together. They say that when you pray, move your feet. Hence, the dating apps...but surprise surprise that wasn't working either. Finally, Hunter had enough and reached out to his sister-in-law and said, "I'm tired of these apps...set me up with someone." She said, "I told you to reach out to Maddy!" So Hunter decided to follow her on Instagram and she followed him back. After a few minutes of sweating over what to say, he finally thought, "You know what? what do I have to lose? She either doesn't respond...or maybe we hit it off." So he took his shot with the amazing and so charming line of "Carlie said I should slide in your DM's...so this is me sliding in your DM's. How are you?" You're telling me that works?! Absolutely! We talked for two weeks before we met because Maddy was in quarantine. Texting, talking on the phone, and facetime. It just all felt so natural and right. Our first date was on December 3rd, dinner and bowling. Wow, that was fun! Our last first date and we didn't even know it. We spent just about the next week with each other. Within a week we were officially dating and within two weeks we had already dropped the L bomb. And the rest, as they say, is history. "When the time is right, I, the Lord, will make it happen." All the pain and heartbreak from the past had been wiped away. This was the answer to the many prayers and it was more than we ever asked for. We are so grateful for each other and for the paths that we had to take to meet one another.
