We're Getting Married!

If you ask Hunter: I started talking to Kayla in November of 2023 and right from the get-go I knew that she was different in the best way. I knew that I had to make a move quick so I asked her out right away! With it being my first first date in a long time, I was super nervous and I knew that Kayla could tell, for all I knew I wasn’t getting a call/text back at all after I dropped her off. But to my surprise she texted me right away telling me to be safe heading home! From there we talked for about six weeks and I knew that she was the one for sure when I was gone for two weeks straight for tournaments and she never stopped talking to me. The second I got back I made sure to ask her to be my girlfriend and make it official! The next 8 months were great getting to know Kayla and her family and then while job hunting, I got drawn to South Carolina to accept my dream job. Even though it would be life changing for both of us, Kayla was nothing but supportive and willing to take the leap with me. This is when I knew 1000% that she was going to be my wife. She stood by me and helped lead me in every way possible through prayer and wisdom in accepting the job, finding a house for us, and making the move. It wasn’t even 2 months later when I was looking for a ring to put on her finger. Luckily after making the move, I had just enough money to buy her a ring so I spent no time waiting. Little did she know, I picked the ring up while I was home for Christmas and was going to propose not even a month later! Thanks to help of our families, I was able to fly in and surprise Kayla on January 31st to ask her to be my wife. My plan was to find the earliest flight to Dallas from South Carolina and get in before Kayla woke up to make it a true surprise. I wrote her a letter letting her know to start getting ready because it was her big day! I was so excited the day of that I did not sleep one second and I drove to the airport at 2 am and hopped on the plane at 6. That day I went to find the perfect things to go along with the engagement, then me and Kyle went and found the perfect spot to pop the question. After that it was a big blur but in the best way possible! Once we said yes and took pictures, we went back to meet all of our friends and family at Truck Yard to celebrate! If you ask Kayla... Let me tell you when they say, they best ones come when you aren't even looking, it's so true! Hunter asked me to go on a date a few days after Thanksgiving in 2023! He was full of intentionality from the moment we began talking. Our first date was amazing and we hit it off like we had know each other for years from the beginning! Hunter thought he would never hear from me again, I'll let him tell you why... but I was in love from the first date LOL. We started dating January 14, 2024!! I can honestly say I grow more and more in love with Hunter every single day. Some of my favorite things about him is how he constantly strives to take care of me, how he protects and provides for us both, along with his undeniable love and selflessness. In August 2024, Hunter had the opportunity to begin his dream job with fishing and marketing, however it would take him to South Carolina... meaning the start of our long distance journey. January 31, 2025, Hunter flew back to Dallas after 4 weeks of not seeing each other, surprised me big time and asked to marry me!!! I am so excited to be his wife, love and serve him for the rest of my life and be done with long distance forever! Hunter is truly the most intentional, patient, loving, comforting, kind, gentle, servant hearted man I have ever met, and I cannot wait to start our lives together as husband and wife in South Carolina!!
