Denver International Airport (DEN). DEN is a large hub airport set pretty far away from the metropolitans of Denver and Boulder, about a 40 minute drive to Boulder (on a good day with no traffic).

Transportation & getting around

As an FYI in considering transportation options, Lyons, CO is a small town at the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, and it is hard to get an Uber/Lyft later at night. • Rental Car – all the major rental options are available (Hertz, Avis, Enterprise, etc.). The rental car facilities require taking a bus from the arrivals terminal so be sure to budget an extra 10-20 minutes after collecting your bags to wait on the bus and get to the rental car area. • Rideshare (Uber/Lyft) – these are pretty expensive given the time and distance away from the airport. Prices can range from $50 - $100+ depending on the time of day and traffic • RTA AB1 bus DEN Airport to Boulder (Route AB1 Schedule) – this is the most economical (and environmentally) friendly option for traveling back and forth to the airport. A day pass is only $10, and it will require some wayfinding/interpretation of bus timetables + downloading an app.
