We are having a small, private wedding in the mountains of Tennessee on October 18th, 2025. Since we cannot bring everyone to Tennessee, we want to celebrate our upcoming wedding with friends and family at a very casual outdoor party on Sunday, September 21st, 2025 from 12-3 pm at Korth Park in Lake Mills, WI. We hope to see you all at our "We-Do BBQ!"
The day started with Hunter bringing me KwikTrip breakfast in bed. I had been sick with a cold for a couple of days, but Hunter encouraged me to get out of bed and make it a good day. When I was ready, Hunter said his dad asked him to drop off a pole saw at the property their family had been hunting on for decades. This land is where Hunter and I first went hunting together and made a lot of hunting memories. We pulled up to the land, the trees were rich with fall colors, and Hunter asked me to walk with him to drop off the saw and go for a little walk. Having no clue what was about to happen I said "Oh, I'll just wait in the truck," but quickly got out when he said "Please." We were walking towards a tree with vibrant yellow leaves when Hunter's voice became shaky and he started saying sweet things to me. Then he stopped walking, I turned to look at him, and he got down on one knee while asking me to marry him. I said something along the lines of "Is this real life?!" while realizing that my best friend was about to become my forever. I said "YES" then Hunter informed me that his friend, Brett, was wearing a ghillie suit in the bushes taking photos of us. We celebrated our engagement at lunch, and Hunter shared the story of asking my dad's permission when he took him to dinner earlier in the week (he told me he was going with his friend). Hunter put so much thought into making his proposal the most special moment for me. I cannot wait to become Mrs. Jordyn Bakke!
