Hunter and Jonah’s story began one summer during a family trip to Utah. While Hunter was at a Fourth of July gathering, he matched with Jonah on a dating app. What started as casual messaging quickly turned into something special. At first, Hunter thought Jonah might be too good to be true—so perfect and charming that he almost seemed like a bot. But a quirky photo of Curious George in Jonah’s profile sparked a conversation that neither of them would forget. After Hunter returned to Idaho for school, the two connected over FaceTime, instantly discovering a spark and shared interests that drew them closer. Just as their bond was forming, Jonah left on a three-week European cruise. Despite the distance, they made it a priority to stay connected, exchanging good morning and good night texts and FaceTiming whenever they could—even with the time difference. Jonah went so far as to buy Wi-Fi on his trip just to stay in touch. Their first “date” was online, organized by Jonah, and it only strengthened their connection. When he returned from Europe, Hunter picked him up at the airport—their first in-person meeting—where they shared their first hug and kiss. The very next day, their first official date included hammocking in the Wasatch Mountains and taking a cooking class together, cementing their feeling that they were meant to be. Over the past year, Hunter and Jonah have built a life together. They’ve supported each other through school, work, and all of life’s ups and downs, celebrating milestones like graduations and moving into their first apartment together. They also welcomed a new four-legged family member, a Golden Retriever puppy, Fenrir, into their home. Now, they are excited to start the next chapter of their journey as they build a life and a home together.
