Our story begins with how we first met. Hunter was vacationing with family in North Carolina, and I was at home like any other day pondering on the question “how will I ever find love again?” So I enrolled in Match.com and scrolled through to see who was out there. After a few days, I came across Hunter’s profile. His bio talked about his passion for fishing, hunting, his career as an iron worker. But what caught my eye the most about Hunter was how he quoted, “my nephew means everything to me.” His profile was so down to earth I had to swipe right! Next thing I knew, he messaged me with just a simple hi, how are you? Like any other conversation. As he was driving back from North Carolina he asked if I wanted to have dinner with him? I told him “Yes, but i’m sure you wanna get home after your camping trip?” He responds back "yea I guess you’re right". The next day, he texts me that his plans fell through and if we could have dinner tonight? So I gave in and said okay since you keep asking me lol! I asked him where do you feel like going for dinner? He says anywhere, but I like a Woman that knows what she wants. He had me right there and then that he was a keeper. So I chose a half way point for us, Texas Roadhouse. He was from Sanford and I was from Port Orange. As i’m driving to the restaurant, i'm absorbed with all these butterflies in my stomach like every Woman gets when they meet a guy for the first time. As I am driving into the parking lot, I realized there was hardly any parking spots. So, I go around the building to not look like I was absolutely lost that I can’t find parking especially on a first date. Hunter then calls me and asks if i’m driving a red car? I think to myself " Now I feel silly because I couldn’t find a parking spot". But awww he ends up surprising me with a parking spot across from his truck. Now how sweet is that! Of course I’m not making the best impression and I reply with, "Okay, see you soon". I get out of my car and the next thing I know, this very cute guy starts walking up to me with the biggest smile on his face. He was just as I had pictured, but even cuter! The night went on and we were just laughing and starting to get to know more about one another. After dinner was over, we both realized we didn’t want to part ways. So, we decided to catch a late night movie to see Thor Love and Thunder. Half way through the movie, Hunter rests his head on my shoulder and as I look down on him he looks up at me and kisses me. Now at this point I really didn’t want the night to end, but Happily Ever can continue. As we’re both driving back to our homes, Hunter calls me saying he took the wrong way going home and how he couldn’t stop thinking about me. I felt those butterflies again that I had to see him again real soon. The next day, we were on to our second date. And this continues our Happily Ever After.
It was Sunday, April 7th and Easter had just passed. We spent the night at my parents house that Saturday night with my dad and Hunter chatting in front of a bomb fire little did I know he was asking my dad’s blessing and my mom and I watching a chick flick movie with our wines. The next day we drive home because we were expecting company to stay with us for a week. We get home and I immediately get to work cleaning up the house. After seeing the house all clean i'm ready for a break, so Hunters says let’s go for a drive. We stop at A Starbucks in Longwood and I get myself the Paradise drink and Hunter gets himself the Dragonfruit refresher. Afterwards, we stop at his shop to pick up a “couple things”. We leave the shop and Hunter decides to pull into Big Tree Park on the way home. I ask him "We’re stopping in here?" He responds "Yea let’s go for a walk, and bring your drink." So I have my drink in one hand and my other holding Hunter’s. We stopped at the first tree and took in a moment with the beautiful scenery. Then, we walked further up the path to the second tree which was BIG TREE. As we’re standing there glazed on this 2000 year old cypress tree, Hunter starts getting down on his right knee, and I immediately thought he was tieing his shoe. But then I see him pull out this black box from his right pants pocket. The next thing I know he’s taking me by hand, and he’s saying all these amazing words I can’t process because I know what’s about to happen next. The words “Will you Marry me?” And right away I said Yes, Yes, Yes with these happy tears just pouring down my face. I felt like the luckiest girl in that park and I couldn’t believe how perfect that moment was. I wanted to yell at the top of my lungs I’M ENGAGED! We couldn’t stop crying, and hugging that I wish someone had captured the moment for us. But in the eyes of God, and our families in heaven, they were looking down on us that day, witnessing it all. The sun was shining very bright that day, and as we left that trail leading back to his truck, Hunter whispers to me, "We’re going to be leaving this park Engaged". And I responded with “Yes we are!”
