Hunter and Erica met at Wheaton College during the fall semester of 2015 as lab partners for a computer science project. There was not any particular interest on either side at first, and they talked only a handful of times that semester. The next semester, they were in two math classes together (each of which had less than 6 people) which meant that they encountered each other quite often. Hunter was also the teaching assistant for another math class that Erica was taking that semester which involved running tutoring sessions twice a week that Erica frequently attended. Over the course of that semester, Erica and Hunter began to develop feelings for each other and discovered that they had many common interests (including math, books, parks, and nature). They began going on dates shortly before the summer began. When they saw each other again after having been apart for the summer, they found that they did, in fact, still like each other. They grew closer during their last year at Wheaton, and began to more seriously consider the option of marriage. After spending the summer working at T Bar M camps, they began their first year of graduate school for mathematics (Hunter at UNC and Erica at NC State). Through prayer that semester, they became confident that the Lord was calling them to marriage, and on December 3rd 2017, Hunter asked Erica to marry him. They are excited to embark on this lifelong journey together!
