Here is the link to use to share photos and videos from this week! We can't wait to celebrate with everyone! https://tinyurl.com/ytfuws7y
We have had a lot of questions about some of our favorite activities and things to do! Early Morning Breakfast @ Soggy Dollar - so fun to watch all the boats arrive at White Bay for the day Bubbly Pool - a part of our Friday East End day Ocean Spa BVI - massages on the water, reserve ahead of time or upon arrival Thursday Night Sushi @ Hendo's Hideout - make reservations and order sushi by 3 pm that Thursday Breakfast at Tipsy Shark - located in Great Harbour, the first place we ate on our first trip to Jost and is definitely our favorite! The Johnny Breakfast is a MUST have! Wednesday Night BBQ @ Ivans - similar food to our rehearsal dinner but a great dinner idea for after the Virgin Gorda Trip! This is also the night and place where Hunter and I got engaged! Gertrudes - pour our own drink and try the best Fish Nuggets!
Please RSVP to all events by June 1st.
Jost Van Dyke is a small casual island. 99% of the time you will see us in bathing suits and cover-ups. For our rehearsal dinner, please ensure that your outfit is all black. For our wedding ceremony and reception, we are requesting that all guests wear white. Please wear whatever makes you feel the most confident as long as it is white! Guys are welcome to wear khaki shorts or pants. Shoes are optional but dancing is required!
We recommend using Jost Van Dyke Scuba. Captain Colin has taken great care of us before and we have enjoyed each trip with JVD Scuba. You should contact them to book your boats/trips. You can find all of their contact information on their website. https://jostvandykescuba.com/
This depends on your phone service and plan. We typically use our international plan while on Jost. The easiest way to communicate with the wedding group and contacts on Jost is by using WhatsApp. Use the link to join our group! https://chat.whatsapp.com/Iqqw1C9AOd71X07IxBZI2g
You can book this online at https://newhorizonferry.com/excursions/. The cost is $80 per person. This is one of the optional events we would like you to RSVP for.
You have asked our most difficult question yet! :) LOL! To start, there is a small grocery store on Jost Van Dyke in Great Harbour called Rudy's. They have a variety of items including beer, wine, and liquor. This is a great place to restock or pick up anything you missed. There are also a lot of great places to eat on Jost so keep this in mind as you are thinking about provisions. Getting groceries to Jost is called provisioning. There are a couple of different ways to go about this. If you are staying at White Bay Villas, one option is to reach out to Amy to assist you in this process. We recommend ordering as a household. The easiest way to do this is online. You will pick out your items and they will be brought over on the ferry on the day of your arrival. Here are some of the places we have ordered/shopped at in the past. Riteway: https://www.riteway.vg Bobby's: https://www.bobbyssupermarket.com/ Caribbean Cellars: https://shop.caribbeancellars.com/
Yes, most of the places accept cards. We recommend letting your bank know that you are traveling outside of the county and keep in mind that sometimes there is a small fee for using a credit card. It is also important to bring cash for tips on drinks and taxi rides!
You will land at the Beef Island Airport. From there, you will taxi to the West End Ferry Dock. Taxis are readily available at the airport and they will be there waiting for you. You can book your ferry in advance on their website at newhorizonferry.com. Be sure to check the ferry schedule!
This answer depends. We have rented a car all 3 times in the past for more convenient travel around the island. There are plenty of readily available taxis if you choose not to rent a car! Paradise Jeep Rentals: https://paradisejeeprental.com/
