After I was scrolling on Instagram as a junior in high school, I came across Hunter’s profile, thought he seemed nice, and gave him a follow. A few short hours later he had followed me on Instagram AND Twitter, oh, and he also had sent me a message on Twitter. His famous first words to me, “Do you know me and should I know you?” I guess as they say... the rest was history!

First off, my friends are really good at keeping secrets! We all planned to go have a “One Day Fall Day” as we had been calling it because I only had one day off of school to fit all the fun fall activities in one day we could. We went and picked pumpkins, got lost in a corn maze, and even snagged some apples at an orchard! Hunter had also planned to get some professional pictures taken later of my friends, himself, and I as someone he knew from work was getting into photography and wanted some practice. Of course, we all said sure why not when he heard about it and fit it into our fall activites. A couple minutes into the shoot, the photographer suggested that Hunter and I take some couple pictures of just us. This is when I noticed Hunter’s front flannel pocket was un-buttoned so I said to wait one second and buttoned it up before we began. Little did I know, there was a ring in that pocket waiting to be placed on my finger in a few short moments. The photographer snapped a few pictures, told us to get into a pose, and all of the sudden I turned around and Hunter was on one knee, ring in hand, and asking me to marry him. After tears were shed by me, excited screams were hollered, and lots of smiles all around we snapped a few more picures with my flashy new ring and went off to celebrate! Oh, and a special side note: I woke up that morning with my eye swollen shut as I was having an allergic reaction I had been dealing with. I knew we were set to get pictures later so I of course was upset, but not freaking out. My friends and Hunter were having secret meetings in our apartment freaking out what the new plan would be if the swelling did not calm down. Luckily, it all worked out!
