Who would have thought a snowstorm in Texas would determine our future? We met at a Tri Delta family dinner when Texas had a bad snowstorm so Hunter’s parents couldn’t make it to the event, and he had to fill in. A few casual conversations in the buffet line was it for that night, but the spark was there! Fast forward to 2017, where we reconnected at a graduation in Lubbock and continued the relationship. After Alayna graduated from Texas Tech and moved to Dallas for work, the rest is history!

Something about Texas snowstorms in February! Hunter proposed on the same week as the Texas 'Snowpocalypse', Saturday, February 20th, 2021! The snow was just melting, and Alayna thought we were meeting Hunter's parents for a happy hour. Outside of the happy hour, there was a frozen pond and Hunter suggested we go take a look. Alayna was looking into the pond to see if there were fish under the ice and when she turned around, he was on one knee! Such a sweet surprise. After the proposal, Hunter surprised Alayna with an engagement party with some of their closest friends and family!
