Anna and Hunter went to the same high school, and were actually in the same Math class, but their story didn't start there. Each of them had lived in DC for a few years when they ran into each other at a mutual friend's house, but their story didn't start there either. On a road trip from North Carolina back to Washington, DC, they finally hit it off playing a round of 20 questions in the car for seven hours (a flight at Ballast Point Brewery may have been involved)!

They tried to set up some friends at a gala in DC, but it didn't work out! Instead, they spent the whole night talking and dancing. Where they went on their first date depends on who you ask, but first dates led to dinners on Anna's rooftop, picnics in Logan Circle, and many hours riding side by side in Hunter's truck. After Anna moved back home for school, they spent their weekends running around Hickory or visiting their favorite spots in DC.

Anna was headed to DC for a quick trip. After arriving she and Hunter headed to a friend's new apartment for drinks. On the way there, they cut through Logan Circle, a park they had been to on many picnic dates. As they were walking through the park, Hunter pulled Anna aside and gave her a speech she doesn't remember before getting down on one knee. She said YES!
