We both joined Bumble “To meet new people” as their slogan states. Swiping left and right, we eventually matched with one another. After a few short messages, we decided to meet at Collectivo Coffee Shop on Milwaukee's lake front. Shortly after we met, just like the snap of your fingers, we knew this was it! What we didn’t know however is that we would find ourselves in a long-distance relationship as Hunter was offered a job in Florida that he could not turn down. Over time, we overcame the obstacles of being in a long-distance relationship and we quickly became frequent fliers. Fast forward to February 23, 2020, we got engaged in the middle of a blizzard on top of a mountain in Breckenridge, CO. The weather did not want to cooperate that day, but somehow it was perfect.
On the top of peak 9 in Breckenridge, CO, after we took a group photo, the snow was swirling, winds howling, and I didn't really know what was going on until Hunter dropped to one knee, and presented me with the iconic Little Blue Box. His proposal, like our relationship was loving, exciting and ever surprising. The weather wasn't the only thing that took my breath away that day!
So, although our story isn’t an epic novel… our love is real love… ridiculous, inconvenient, all consuming, can’t-live-without-each-other-kind of love. It’s exactly what we’ve been looking for! Ironically, in the midst of this pandemic, we’re happier than ever. We are starting a new chapter and planning a wedding, with a plan B and C with hopes that the quarantine rules do not cancel our celebration of love. Who would have thought 2020 would be the year of "COVID Weddings." Stay safe, wash your hands, don't touch your face, and above all look for the good that is all around us. This pandemic has been devastating in so many ways, but perhaps the good is the reiteration to love one another, because love it is the greatest gift of all. WE CANT WAIT TO CELEBRATE WITH YOU!
