After graduating from TCU at the height of COVID, Jack landed back in KC. Hunter, fresh from an apprenticeship in San Francisco, arrived a couple months later to be close to family in Topeka. Earlier that year, Hunter had set Morgan, his Co-Diva of Honor, up with her now-husband and, after reminding her she owed him, she came through: "You need to go on a date with Jack Kapple!" Reader: she was right. We had our first date at Messenger Coffee on Grand (per Jack's suggestion) and talked and giggled for three hours. Hunter came back to his apartment and told his roommate how it went. Layne replied, "Sick, dude. I'll play at your wedding." So he's on strings during Cocktail Hour. 2021 took us from movie nights to moving in together. Hunter became wiener dog George Banks's second dad, we got new jobs, and we visited Texas, Boston, and New York together. Fast-forward to June 2024. Jack got down on one knee at the top of St. Agnes Falls near his family's cabin in Colorado, Hunter said "duh," and the rest is history! Fav memories? Seeing Kacey Musgraves, Chappell Roan, and Charli XCX in concert, touring the Danube River, galavanting across San Francisco, and sharing copious amounts of wine with our dear loved ones. * See vibe below.
