Hunter came to know of Chloe because of having gym class with her brother, Nicholas, his sophomore year of high school. The summer going in to his junior year, Hunter posted a "tbh" (to be honest - whoever liked these posts would get an honest message from the person that posted it) on Instagram, and he says that he specifically posted it in hopes that Chloe would like it. She unknowingly did like the post which led Hunter to tell her "I don't know you, but you seem cool and I think we should talk". The crazy kids went on their first date to the movies (classic!) about 2.5 weeks later without ever meeting each other in person prior. They officially became "boyfriend and girlfriend" a month and a half after their first date.

Hunter and Chloe dated for 5.5 years before getting engaged! They spent a large chunk of high school going to proms, homecomings, and football games together all the while cheering one another on in their own sports. Coincidentally, Chloe was asked to be a wrestling manager before meeting Hunter, so she was able to be in his corner on the mat for every single one of his wrestling matches! They did one year of long distance while Hunter completed his freshman year at Messiah and Chloe finished up her senior year of high school. Chloe was dead set on Messiah before Hunter decided to go there, but they are VERY thankful for their experience of attending college together. In college, Chloe continued cheering on Hunter on the mat... however, she spent more of her time supporting him through his MANY surgeries. Hunter likewise took care of Chloe quite often as everyone knows he became her doctor:)
