FAQs

Here you will find some answers to questions you may have!
Question

WTF is Cacio e Pepe? You have it on your dinner menu but I don't speak whatever language that is....

Answer

Literally translated, cacio e pepe means “cheese and pepper” in Italian. (Also, the second “c” in Italian is pronounced as a “ch”, so it sounds like “kah-cheeoh eh peh-peh.”) For centuries, this famous cheesy pasta dish has been a staple in Roman cuisine. It is traditionally made with thick spaghetti (traditionally bucatini), Pecorino cheese (or Parmesan), and loads of freshly-cracked black pepper. Basically, it’s the original mac and cheese — made with black pepper and Pecorino. And it is delicious. And we're adding shrimp to it....don't be afraid!!!!

Question

How long does it take to get from LAX to the venue for reference?

Answer

If LAX was your starting point, plan on it taking an hour to an hour and 15 minutes to get to the venue. It's actually only about 30 miles northwest from Los Angeles but downtown LA traffic is always slow to get thru and once you're off the main freeways, its another 20 minutes into the countryside to get to the venue! Don't stop at Six Flags on your way. That sh*t will definitely make you late and you don't wanna miss the Cacio e Pepe.

Question

When we get to the venue, what's the deal with parking?

Answer

So glad you asked! When you arrive you'll be at a grand entrance with giant iron gates. Just behind the curtain (iron gate) you will find Oz (our wedding) and the entire front as you pull in is all free parking all for you!

Question

I don't wanna drive from the hotel to this party cuz I plan on crushing that open bar

Answer

There's an easy solution to that! We have a shuttle that will be picking people up from the Courtyard By Marriott and bringing them to the wedding and then, there will be multiple shuttles available to take you home at the end of the night! Check the wedding schedule page for a full schedule of the day and shuttle times!

Question

Do I need to be vaccinated to attend the wedding?

Answer

Ummm no, of course not. But we hope y'all get it for your own health and safety! The majority of guests will be vaccinated so if you aren't it's fine..feel free to pass Covid around amongst your unvax'd selves! (we're teasing! to each his own!) This does bring me to our next FAQ....

Question

Mask or no mask?

Answer

We won't be wearing masks. Even with Delta Variant, the CDC doesn't require/advise mask wearing anymore among vaccinated individuals in OUTDOOR locations (and the whole wedding shabang is outdoors minus a quick walk thru the mansion when you first arrive) or in groups less than 1000 people. We're 150 so we don't fall under those mandates. For those who are unvaccinated- we leave it up to you! Even if you are vaccinated- it's up to you! Wear them or don't wear them. It's allll good cuz we ARE vaccinated and ready to sign up for our boosters in October.....we just may keep more distance from you if you're unvax'ed. Note: We will have masks available upon entry for those who wish to wear one!

Question

I'm coming to the West Coast/So-Cal from somewhere else that's not the West Coast/So-Cal. Suggestions on what's fun to do in the area?

Answer

What part of our names include "your personal travel agent"? :) Go to the beach! Leo Carrillo in Malibu is beautiful, quiet/peaceful! It's also dog friendly! Venice Beach if you wanna see wanna-be Arnold Schwarzenegger's working out in the hot sun...also if you wanna smell patchouli in bucket fulls and wander thru a sublimely grimy experience (Kiki actually loves Venice and highly recommends if you've never been there). Paradise Cove in Malibu is awesome! Fantastic restaurant on the beach that's fun and great food! Speaking of food: If you love sushi but have never had Sugarfish, then you haven't had sushi. Sugarfish is a so-cal sushi institution and is a MUST if you're here. They have locations all over the LA area so definitely check it out! They don't take reservations so go a little early. Order the "Trust me Nozawa" option which is a multiple course meal of the chef's top sushi's. It's IN.CRED.IBLE. And of course don't forget the cold Saki! You won't be disappointed.

Question

I don't like the beach, I hate patchouli and I don't like sushi.....

Answer

That explains why you don't live here!

Question

Can I take pics and video during the ceremony on my phone?

Answer

For the ceremony, we ask that everyone PLEASE PUT PHONES AWAY AND ON SILENT/VIBRATE! Thanks for understanding! But after the ceremony- do your thing! (except during speeches- please mute those phones so your Uncle Rufus and Aunt Barbie calling to tell you all about the incredible casserole they just made that they can send you the recipe for doesn't crash someones speech)

Question

Where's my plus one, Foos?

Answer

Listen, we hear you, but if there wasn't a plus one included on the invite, please don't show up with a Bumble date you just met! We promise we're seating you strategically with your friends and no one coming alone will be or feel alone! Plus- you don't want your Bumble date to have to watch everyone else eating a delicious meal from a standing position in the corner because we didn't have a seat for them or a meal planned. Headcounts are no joke!
