The Buraanbur is an event for women only done after the nikkah. At this event, Somali poetry is recited while the guests dance. At the end of the event, the groom picks up the bride from the hall.

The Nikkah is name for the Islamic marriage ceremony.

Where should we stay if we are coming from out of town?

Answer

We have a room block at The Lofton Hotel, which is the venue where the wedding reception will take place on Saturday, November 1st. This hotel is located in downtown Minneapolis. We recommend staying here due to the convenience, but definitely understand if you choose to stay elsewhere!
