Question
Is there a dress code?
Answer
There is just a strict dress code for the ceremony. We are asking all guest to wear shades of white. For cousins and immediate family members for the Mehendi we are asking you to wear a black Kurta. The reception is black tie for men that includes suites and ties. Most men to the baraat event are wearing Sherwanis. For women for the mehendi bring out your best colorful outfits and teekas. For the baraat we are asking women family members to wear any shades of gold or pink or red. The reception theme is night sky. Please feel free to wear any shades of blue black gray.

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?
Answer
For all events, we are asking guests, especially family members to please be on time. The Nikkah ceremony at the mosque will begin promptly at 4:00. We are asking guests to please arrive by 3:30.

When and Where is the Nikkah dinner?
Answer
The ceremony at the mosque will end around 4:45. Afterwards, we are asking guests to promptly leave the mosque and drive to the dinner venue. It is about a 25 to 30 minute drive from the mosque.

Do you have any hotel recommendations?
Answer
We do not have a room block at a specific hotel. Most of our guests are staying at the Motel 6 in Villa Park. It is central to most of the venues and the cheapest option. You are free to stay anywhere you would like.

Can we take pictures?
Answer
We love everyone's enthusiasm for taking pictures. We just ask that the ceremony and the ceremony dinner be unplugged. We would love for everyone to just live in the moment and enjoy the most memorable day of our lives. For all other events yes you may take pictures. We just ask that no one gets in the photographer/videographer/content creators way we would love for everyone to stay present during important moments. There will be a QR code at all the events where any photos and videos you take can be uploaded to

Are we doing anything on Saturday the 14th?
Answer
That is everyone's off day! Go enjoy the city. There are many things to do. We have added some suggestions to the travel page depending on if you would like to go to downtown or stay in the suburbs Humna and Omar will be coming to the Ahmed house at around 4 PM everyone was as welcome to just hang out and have fun with us as well.
