Our story began in the summer of 2018 at our first jobs as lifeguards at Edith Ball Adaptive Recreation Center, just next to Reid Park Zoo. We were young, carefree, and unaware of what God was quietly writing into our lives. From the beginning, there was a natural friendship and kindness between us, even if we did not yet recognize what it would become. Over the next several years, we continued to cross paths. Each encounter felt meaningful, as if the Lord was gently weaving our lives together in His perfect timing. At that time, neither of us had fully surrendered our lives to Christ. We each walked through seasons of growth, challenges, and personal transformation that ultimately led us back to the Lord. Through those experiences, God shaped our hearts individually before preparing us to walk side by side. In the summer of 2025, our story took a defining turn. We unexpectedly reunited at a friend’s birthday gathering. The moment we saw one another, it felt as though the world around us faded into the background. Conversation came easily, joy felt effortless, and there was an undeniable sense of peace in being together. What began years earlier as friendship was now clearly something deeper. Early in reconnecting, we shared how we had both surrendered our lives to Christ. That conversation marked a turning point. Our relationship was no longer built on chance encounters, but on a shared foundation of faith. We recognized that God had been working in both of our lives long before we understood His plan. What once seemed like coincidence was, in truth, divine orchestration. As our relationship grew, so did our commitment to Christ and to one another. We sought to build something rooted not only in love, but in covenant. We encouraged one another in faith, prayed together, and intentionally pursued a Christ-centered relationship with marriage in mind. When it came time to propose, we returned to Redington Pass, the place of our very first date. Beneath a vast desert sky filled with stars, we took the next step in the journey God had written for us. It was a full-circle moment that reflected His faithfulness from the beginning. Since then, we have celebrated milestones, created memories, and continued growing together in purpose and love. We step into marriage with gratitude for where we have been and with confidence in where God is leading us. Together, hand in hand, we commit our lives to one another and to the Lord, trusting that the best chapters of our story are still to come.
