Hugo and Ryan first met online in 2007 — Yes, way back in the Myspace days, before dating apps were a thing, before either of them had come out, and way before they knew what the future had in store. Just two awkward 7th graders, messaging across the country — Hugo in Arizona, Ryan in Ohio. Somehow, even then, something clicked. They kept in touch for years, texting, Skyping, and occasionally dropping out of each other’s lives before popping back in again.

Hugo, now fully convinced this boy from Ohio was someone special, bought a plane ticket to Kent State, where Ryan was a freshman. It was their first time meeting in real life and Hugo knew immediately: this is the one. Of course, long distance has a way of testing even the strongest feelings, and after trying to make it work with many flights back and forth, they eventually went their separate ways. But fate (plus some internet sleuthing) had other plans.

In 2020, Hugo came to Las Vegas on a trip and remembered that Ryan had moved there years before for work. A few clicks, they reconnected — And this time, it stuck. The two picked up like no time had passed, except now they were both truly ready for a life they had always dreamed of. In 2021, Hugo moved to Vegas. The boys bought a house, turned it into a home, and Hugo eventually got the official approval of Ryan’s cat, Oscar (it took some convincing, but Hugo learned that treats go a long way). They later adopted a hundred-pound pup named Misty, now lovingly referring to their little crew as The Farm.

In 2024, Hugo proposed — and Ryan said yes. Nearly two decades later... From middle school messages in 2007 to marriage in 2026. Separated by states, reunited by chance, and brought together by love (and a little bit of online magic).
