We can't wait to celebrate with you! We hope you are just as excited as we are to kick off the holiday season with us. We see this celebration as an extension of Thanksgiving day, to celebrate all the wonderful things life has to offer, especially love. Thanks for being here. Let's party.
Chad and Katie met in 2011 at the UofA. Both dating other people, their friendship began when Katie asked Chad to join her in a group project. Facebook status: In a Relationship (with other people) After graduation, Katie moved to NYC and Chad completed his masters at the UofA—keeping in close touch that first year post-grad. Facebook status: Single *wink* Chad reached out to Katie after accepting a position in NYC. She offered he crash at her apartment while hunting for a place of his own. Chad arrived in August 2014; Katie moved to Paris in September the same year. Facebook status: It’s Complicated Four months after Katie moved to Paris, they became "official." Three days later, Chad said I love you, and patiently waited for Katie to reciprocate... five months after that. Katie moved back to NYC in October 2015. Facebook status: In a Relationship (with each other, finally) These days, Katie and Chad make moves together. In April 2018, they moved from NYC to Phoenix with their pup Gatsby, adopted Willow in June, bought a house in July, and got engaged four days later. Facebook status: Engaged (!!!)
Chad and Katie purchased their first home together on Monday, July 16, 2018. Though they were planning to move in that weekend, Chad took the Friday off to surprise Katie by moving them in early. Arriving at their new home, under the assumption of a dinner date with a friend, Chad showed off the details he had already set up in their new home, finally leading her into a room decorated head to toe in lighting, candles, and a small sign asking, “Will you marry me?” Chad got down on one knee and repeated the sign’s question. The only moment of the night that wasn’t a surprise was Katie saying “yes,” because shortly after, the doorbell rang with their families and friends coming to celebrate the newly engaged couple.
