Two years ago, on a crisp summer afternoon in Newport, Rhode Island, Kathleen and Hugh met on the deck of an IC37, both drawn to the sea and the thrill of the wind in their sails. What started as friendly competition on the water became long evening walks along Bowen’s Wharf, sharing dreams over tacos at Perro Salado. By the end of the autumn, they knew—this wasn’t just a season’s romance. As the leaves turned, so did their adventure. A job opportunity took them to Virginia, where they traded the ocean breeze for the rolling Blue Ridge hills. Together, they built a home filled with laughter, late-night talks, and the humble beginnings of a life together. Their love grew steady and sure like the tides they once raced. Now, life has carried them to Atlanta, a city far from the sea but no less full of possibility. Amid bustling streets and southern charm, they’ve found a new rhythm—exploring hiking trails, savoring warm peach cobblers, and planning their next great adventure. But one thing remains constant through every move, every change: their love. This year, they’ll return to Newport—not just to sail, but to say "I do," and celebrate their next chapter where it all began.
