Question

When should we arrive?

Answer

We recommend arriving by Friday, October 2nd to join us for welcome drinks at the Beaufort Yacht Club that evening. If you're unable to make it Friday, just be sure to arrive in time for the wedding on Saturday, October 3rd. If you're looking to arrive early or extend your trip, Savannah is about an hour south and Charleston is about an hour and a half north — both are well worth a visit!

Question

Where should I stay?

Answer

Please refer to the Accommodations page for more information on our hotel blocks. There are also Airbnbs available on Dataw Island, in downtown Beaufort, and on the surrounding Sea Islands (St. Helena, Lady's Island, Harbor Island, and Fripp Island). We recommend checking the travel time between your rental and the venue to make sure it works for your party.

Question

How do I get there?

Answer

The closest airports are Savannah/Hilton Head International (SAV), about an hour's drive, and Hilton Head Airport (HHH), about 40 minutes. Charleston International (CHS) is also an option but a bit further out. We recommend flying into Savannah for the most flight options.

Question

Do I need a rental car?

Answer

We recommend renting a car for the weekend. Rideshare is limited in the Beaufort/St. Helena Island area. A rental car will make getting around much easier, especially for exploring the area during downtime.

Question

Will there be transportation on the wedding day?

Answer

Yes! We will be providing shuttle service from hotels to Dataw Island Club for the ceremony and reception, and back at the end of the night. Pickup locations and times will be shared closer to the wedding.

Question

How do I get onto Dataw Island?

Answer

Dataw Island is a gated community. Your name will be on the guest list at the gate. Please have a valid ID ready.

Question

What's the weather like in October?

Answer

October in the Lowcountry is beautiful. Expect temperatures in the mid-60s to low 80s. It can be breezy in the evenings, so a light layer is a good idea. The ceremony is outdoors, so plan accordingly.

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

Please refer to your invitation. If your invitation includes a guest, their name will appear on your RSVP. Feel free to reach out to the groom for any clarifications.

Question

What is there to do in the area?

Answer

Check out the Things to Do page for our recommendations! Downtown Beaufort is charming with great restaurants, shops, and waterfront walks. Hunting Island State Park is nearby with a gorgeous beach and lighthouse. Hilton Head Island is also a short drive away.
