Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Shane Huddleston and Emily Schoen
Below you will find recommendations for things to do/places to see, as well as bars and restaurants. There will be some time in between the ceremony and reception and we recommend you take full advantage and explore some of the great neighborhoods in STL! A few great spots for drinks or gathering together in between the ceremony and reception that are nearby both venues: Bar 360 at the Hilton Downtown, Soulard neighborhood for McGurk’s, Midwestern (Downtown), Ballpark Village, Sasha’s wine bar (Demun - by WashU). If you are staying in the Marriott Grand, there is a bar in the lobby where you can grab some drinks, as well!

Washington University in St. Louis

1 Brookings Dr, St. Louis, MO 63130

We welcome wedding guests to wander around WashU campus following the ceremony if they so desire (and if the weather permits). It is truly a breathtaking campus. The wedding party will be taking photos here as our first spot.

Forest Park

5595 Grand Drive, St. Louis, MO 63112

Enjoy a nice walk throughout beautiful Forest Park, where there is always much to see and do! We highly recommend! Here you can also enjoy a round of golf, grab lunch at the boathouse, rent a paddle boat, or pack a picnic and sit on Art Hill. Within Forest Park, you will also find the Saint Louis Zoo, which is free of charge, or you can visit the Art or History Museums. Fun fact: Shane and I went on about a 5 mile walk around the perimeter of Forest Park on the day that Shane proposed. It was a beautiful day and a memory I will never forget.

STL Zoo

1 Government Drive, St. Louis, MO 63110

Saint Louis Art Museum

1 Fine Arts Drive, St. Louis, MO 63110

Boathouse at Forest Park

6101 Government Drive, St. Louis, MO 63110

Missouri Botanical Garden

4344 Shaw Boulevard, St. Louis, MO 63110

Interestingly, the Missouri Botanical Garden is one of the nation’s oldest botanical gardens and a National Historic Landmark. The Missouri Botanical Garden features a variety of different gardens and is amazing.

Ballpark Village

601 Clark Avenue, St. Louis, MO 63102

Located right by Busch Stadium, there are many indoor and outdoor bars/restaurants to catch sports games or even watch the Cards game instead of buying tickets.

The Hill

St. Louis, MO

There are many wonderful restaurants on the Hill that offer amazing Italian food and a great atmosphere. Some of our favorites include Anthonino’s Taverna, Charlie Gitto’s, Favazza’s, or Gioia’s Deli (for lunch)

Felix's Pizza Pub

6401 Clayton Avenue, St. Louis, MO 63139

A great pizza spot in Dogtown (where we live). If you are craving a pint and a slice, Felix’s Pizza and Pub has great pizza and an abundance of TVs for sports games

Tamm Avenue Bar

1227 Tamm Avenue, St. Louis, MO 63139

Another one of our favorite spots in Dogtown! This bar has an outdoor patio that is dog friendly and also offers a game room! It is a great spot to grab some drinks and enjoy the nice weather.

Olympia Kebob House and Taverna

1543 McCausland Avenue, St. Louis, MO 63117

Our all time favorite Greek restaurant located right across the street from our apartment. Amazing Greek food (highly rated) and also has a nice patio. It is a favorite of many!

Sasha's Wine Bar

706 De Mun Avenue, St. Louis, MO 63105

Great spot with patio seating in Demun, which is a neighborhood very close to Washington University

Basso

7036 Clayton Avenue, St. Louis, MO 63117

Great spot for apps and drinks in a trendy basement pub. This is more of a dark/moody vibe. If you want to be outside enjoying sunshine or out on a patio, this is not the place to go! Perfect if it's raining or if it's your vibe.

360 Rooftop Bar

One South Broadway, St. Louis, MO 63102

One of our favorite spots to grab drinks and apps! Amazing view of downtown and you can sit inside or outside on the 360 view patio. It's a great spot. We celebrated our engagement pictures being over by grabbing drinks here afterward :) We have lots of fun memories here.

Clayton

Clayton, MO

There are many spots in Clayton for dinner and drinks. This is a bit of a backtrack from our venue, but if you are in town for extra days we definitely recommend checking out the dining here. Some of our favorites include Napoli, 801 Chophouse or 801 Fish, Herbie’s, or John P. Field’s (very casual).

For all the days along the way
