August 22, 2022 This is the day Hudson and Lauren saw each other for the first time, during 5th period of Lauren’s junior year and Hudson’s senior year. Did they talk? No. They just stared at each other. A lot. Although they didn’t attend the same school, their schools partnered through a college program called CTC, where they shared an entrepreneurial coffee shop class. Hudson attended a small private Christian school, while Lauren went to a large public school. Very different worlds. Hudson was on the business side of the coffee shop, and Lauren worked behind the counter. Because their schedules barely overlapped, they usually only saw each other for a few minutes a day, making it nearly impossible to talk. Determined to spend more time together, Lauren made a bold move and switched her unnecessary class period for an extra hour in the coffee shop. It turned out to be one of the best decisions she ever made. Now sharing an hour together every day, small interactions turned into growing crushes. Lauren found Hudson’s Instagram (of course) and discovered they even went to the same church, just different buildings. Most of their conversations happened online, and Lauren wasn’t convinced Hudson liked her back. What she didn’t know was that he liked her a lot; he was just shy. On the last day of the semester, they finally had their first real conversation, spending nearly the entire class talking (mostly about a candle and what it smelled like). Later that day, Hudson messaged Lauren on Instagram to tell her he figured it out. From that moment on, they talked every single day over winter break. December 21, 2022 Hudson finally asked Lauren to hang out. She was ecstatic, hardly able to contain her excitement. They were going to a field house to play soccer so he could teach her his, and I quote, “amazing soccer skills.” Lauren hadn’t played soccer in years, but that didn’t stop her from saying absolutely yes. December 28, 2022 A week later, they had their first official date. Lauren arrived at the field house expecting it to be just the two of them. Instead, Hudson was surrounded by about 25 or more guys. Not a single girl in sight. Lauren was terrified, but she played anyway (that’s true love right there). They laughed, talked, and had a great time. Afterward, Hudson took Lauren on a real date to Chipotle, where they sat and talked for hours. That night marked the beginning of Hud and Lola. December 28, 2023 Hudson and Lauren hit their one-year mark and had become inseparable. Sadly, Lauren was moving to Colorado in just a few days. December 31, 2023 Lauren and Hudson said goodbye and began their long-distance relationship, which would go on for a little over eight months. They visited each other often, which helped; however, this was a very hard time for them. Thankfully, they had Jesus to lean on. September 1, 2024 Lauren moved again, this time to Washington State. However… Hudson moved with her!! Hudson couldn’t bear to be apart from Lauren any longer, so he prayed and made a decision (THAT’S TRUE LOVE). In Washington, Hudson and Lauren began working together and became even more inseparable. They found a church where God blessed them with community, incredible godly friendships, and mentors who poured into their lives. September 21, 2025 The day their lives changed forever, Hudson and Lauren got ENGAGED!! Truly the happiest day of their lives. They give all the glory to God for this story and are beyond grateful to continue writing it together.
