Flights here can be booked to Duluth or Minneapolis. Flights to Duluth can be more expensive but Minneapolis is about a 2 1/2 hour drive. 
Fall on the north shore is a busy time and places to stay book up fast. There are plenty of hotels and Airbnb's around Duluth and Superior, again I wouldn't wait until the last minute to book.
