Fancy seeing you here!

We played together in the high school marching band for three years. During pep band season, we got to sit close to each other given our instrument choices. His: percussion. Hers: flute. Our sisters were in band as well, and they happened to go to the same middle school. One night, I remember he walked me from the high school over to the middle school so we could catch the last of their concert. Moving forward to our junior/senior years, we took the same AP (Advanced Placement) class... statistics. *shivers* Helping each other understand and get through that class brought us closer to each just by talking more and bonding over the difficulty of that subject.

He went off to UNO for classes, switching to Southeast Community College shortly after. I went on my way up to Wayne State College. I always thought about him and how he was doing. Our birthdays are super close to each other, like three days apart type of close. My junior year of college comes around, and I decide to text him a happy birthday message. First message in a couple of years. It was like we never stopped talking. Picked conversations right back up, and the rest is history. That next weekend he came up to visit me and I remember watching "It" together. He was pretty reluctant to watch because he doesn't like scary movies, but he did because I wanted to. That winter, I attended his graduation ceremony from SCC. A year and a half later, he attended mine in the spring!

I got a job in Lincoln after graduating to be close to him, and he got a job using his degree. We started doing this thing called "adulting" together, and I wouldn't have wanted anyone else by my side. After a year or so, he got a career change and things switched up for a little bit. Just trying to find a new normal in our everyday lives. Our different experiences helped fill in the blanks to each others questions. It all just makes sense when we are together. We've grown both as individuals, but also as a couple in so many ways. I can't wait to see what the future holds for us!
