For what seemed like an eternity, Alex would pout every time she looked at Meg's bare left ring finger. Alex realized she had to make a move. After secretly getting Meg's ring size during a casual trip to a jewelry store, Alex started getting the wheels in motion. However, the old saying really is true - it takes a village. And our village is one of the best. After way too many secret texts, calls, and meet ups to discuss ring-gate with the future bridal party, Alex finally pulled the trigger and bought the perfect ring from Kerry at Love Locked in Jersey City (the best!). Alex asked her parents' and Meg's parents' permission, and it was finally game time. (Pictures of this exist, and they are golden.) On the big day, Alex and Meg were supposed to "go to dinner with Casey and Toby in Brooklyn". Meanwhile, all of their family and friends were going to be waiting to celebrate after Meg hopefully said yes! Naturally, it POURED rain all day, which made the proposal plans switch about 10 times - even up until 20 minutes before "dinner". But luckily, again - Meg and Alex have the most incredible "village" who kept up with Alex's constant changing of plans as the rain got worse and worse. Finally, Casey and Toby came up to the apartment, and it was time to head to "dinner". Alex put the ring box in her shirt pocket, and off they went. While the four of them were "heading to Toby's car", Alex grabbed Meg's hand and got down on one knee and said a jumble of words that eventually included "WILL YOU MARRY ME?" between inconsolable tears. Meg threw her phone on the floor (and cracked her entire screen) and said "YES." Alex put the ring on the wrong hand even after all of that time at staring at that bare left ring finger. Once Alex finally got it on the correct finger, she was the happiest she's ever been in her whole life. Meg looked at Alex and said, "Wow, it's just like the movies." (For real, it's on video.) Best day ever.
