After two years of love and adventure we knew it was meant to be. Gavin proposed on March 14th and our future quickly began to unfold. Unfortunately, we did not plan for the world to shut down just days after our engagement! Rather than letting fear and the unknown hold us back, we decided to take the plunge. We had an intimate wedding in our backyard garden two months to the day following our engagement. It was the perfect way to officially start our lives together! (Celebrations to come!) Caroline is the artistic dreamer, gypsy soul from Montgomery with an eye for beauty and a heart full of passion. Inspired by nature and a true love for animals, Caroline is always there to encourage Gavin to "stop and smell the roses," but also magnolias, gardenias, mystery flowers, flowers that don't smell, plants with no flowers, anything green, anything not green and so on..... Gavin brings his engineer brain from Atlanta to make Caroline's visions and dreams a reality and provides the calming reason to her passion. A workaholic trying to squeeze 25 hours out of a day Gavin is always there to encourage Caroline to see the beauty in all things like his old fixer-upper house, shabby Airstream trailers, and countless unfinished projects, all while cheering Caroline to "put her skates on"! As one can see, Perfectly Balanced. Together we can do anything! He who finds a wife finds what is good and receives favor from the Lord. Proverbs 18:22 (NIV)
After carrying a ring around for months waiting for the right time Gavin finally found the perfect moment. On a last minute camping trip in our vintage Airstream, Roo, everything fell into place. A beautiful campsite on the lake, a hike through a wonderland of waterfalls, breathtaking backdrops only mother nature could provide, and an amazing woman that deserved a ring, Gavin proposed. On March 14, 2020 in the Sipsey Wilderness of Alabama at Parker Falls, we walked into this magical land as two and came out one. The perfect place to begin our fairy tale. I will make them and the places surrounding my hill a blessing. I will send down showers in season; there will be showers of blessing. Ezekiel 34:26 (NIV)
Our newfound love for camping and hiking has brought us closer to nature leaving us dreaming of a piece of land to make uniquely our own. With a small budget and little expertise we found only disappointment for over a year of searching. Two weeks into our marriage, Caroline found the perfect oasis. Over 70 acres on the Locust Fork River with 1 mile of riverfront, breathtaking views, and even our own bluff! Our dream is to have a place for our families and friends to enjoy. Caroline's love for animals will start with the eight goats we inherited and she is already planning her animal sanctuary, gardens and flower farms. Gavin's plans are for shaping the property and building. Cabins, Airstreams, barns, ponds, bridges, kayaks, and farming are only the beginning. We can't wait to get started on the perfect fairyland to make our dreams come true! Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. James 1:17 (NIV)
