How We Met

February 2011

the bride’s version: "I do remember the exact moment I first saw Steve. I was eating lunch with coworkers in the break room of the company I (and eventually Steve) worked at in Alpharetta, GA, in February of 2011. I was 25 years old and had recently started at the company as a contract technical writer in October of 2010. Steve was not yet employed there, but had flown down from Chicago for an in-person interview that day and our (soon-to-be mutual) supervisor was giving him a tour of the building. I remember thinking when he walked in the room "wow, who is he?" because he was tall, dark-haired, broad-shouldered, and, obviously, so handsome. However, as fate would have it, Steve was married at that time. We slowly became good friends, and fate required us both to learn and grow as individuals before we could ever consider being anything more than that.” the groom's version: "Not long after meeting for the first time at the company we eventually worked at together for many years, we became friends. Our unique personalities meshed very well and we were forced to work together, both of us being low on the company pecking order. It didn’t take long before we had developed trust and were bitching about work and life on a regular basis. 7 years into our friendship, Megan’s life path took her back across the country where she came from originally and thus we fell out of contact. We both had a lot of life to live before we could pick our friendship back up again, which we did towards the end of 2022. After texting for about a year, I decided to visit Megan in Arizona and meet her daughter. The visit went incredibly well and by the end of it, we knew our connection was just as strong as it was all those years ago. We decided to pursue the relationship beyond and friendship, and the rest is history. Happy endings do happen."

How He Popped the Question

02.22.2025

We traveled to the Grand Canyon for our Valentine’s weekend this year. We started the idea of getting away for Valentine's Day last year when we went to Jerome, AZ, and had an amazing time and we both shared our first paranormal experience! This year, we traveled to the Grand Canyon the weekend after Valentine’s Day weekend since Megan worked the weekend of Valentine's. Steve had never been to the Grand Canyon before, so we were both excited and had planned to bring our DSLR cameras and gear to get some photography in together, which is one of our shared passions that we try to take advantage of doing together whenever we have the opportunity to. At one point while walking along the rim of the Grand Canyon, we sat down on some large rocks to take a break and Steve started setting up the tripod under the guise of "wanting to get a good wide angle of us with the canyon behind us." He set it up and walked over and grabbed both of my hands in his... ... and it was beautiful and a perfect reflection of our relationship.
