Our story started on September 8, 2023 back in Gainesville, Georgia. Alex was getting ready to go overseas as I had just returned home after nine months of overseas missions. A worship night was held on my 20th birthday where Alex shared a message that altered my life and neither one of us knew the power that night held and what Jesus had in store. We later realized the significance of that night and how much God did. That night I was freed from radical anxiety due to Alex's obedience and through the love of Jesus. Fast forward five months when Alex returned home! I was getting ready to leave for the Middle East for five months when we finally connected. Our friendship really started then and there was interest on my part but I was leaving so of course we both surrendered any feelings we had to Jesus. After those five months I returned home and Jesus put Alex on my heart heavily. I knew I had to reach out and thank God that I did. Our friendship deepened even through long distance calls and I wouldn't trade that time for anything. In July of 2024 I invited Alex to serve with me for the upcoming missionaries that were about to leave and to my surprise he hopped on a flight to Georgia from Texas. We spent nine days serving Jesus alongside one another and within those nine days feelings came about. He left to go home and get ready for basic training and I continued to work my photography job. Once again we surrendered our feelings to Jesus and little did we know how much He would bless that. September, October, and some of November passed by with very few calls when I got a text from his mom. She felt that God was leading her to host me for Christmas and surprise Alex after he came home. With God's leading I said YES. Crazy because I had never met his family. On December 19th Alex got home and on December 20th I showed up at the front door. December 21st rolled around and that was the day we started dating. All those intentional calls and meetings led to this. Our long distance friendship allowed us to cultivate a foundation of radical love unlike anything we had experienced. From that day on it's been lots of love, traveling, sacrifice in new ways, late nights, long days, and pure joy. On June 14, 2025 I moved to Texas for the summer to break the long distance and on July 16, 2025 we got engaged! Thank you Jesus. We want nothing more than for people to see Christ in us and our marriage. I pray that through our story you see that waiting on God's timing is truly worth it.
