Flight
In our experience, Breeze Airways has been the most convenient way to get to Las Vegas from Norfolk, as they are the only airline that offers non-stop flights. Their flight schedule is on Mondays and Fridays, making it pretty perfect for a quick Friday-Monday weekend trip. They also fly direct to Vegas from Richmond on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. For my Florida folks, Breeze flies out of Tampa every day. These flights do have layovers, but they're "BreezeThru" layovers where you don't change planes, they're just picking up more passengers in another city.
Travel Note
Uber and taxis are the most common way of traveling from the airport to your hotel. Taxis to/from the airport are a fixed rate of $30, making Uber the cheaper option, typically ($15-20). If you choose to take an Uber, please be aware that the terminal you fly into to may not be at the same terminal Ubers are required to pick up passengers at (Terminal 1, Level 2). Pay close attention to the signs at the airport and the Uber driver will let you know which stall at the pickup area to meet them at. If you feel like splashing out a bit, car services can be booked for around $100. The driver will meet you at the luggage carousel and escort you to a nearby car, and can make a stop at a store if needed. We usually book through Kaptyn and have had a great experience every time.

While El Cortez is not near the ceremony location, it is very convenient to the reception dinner and Fremont Street Experience. About 20-30 minutes from Mandalay Bay, El Cortez is in downtown Vegas, not on the strip. Downtown has its own grittier, party vibe compared to the strip, and is quickly becoming a more popular area to stay. El Cortez and the casinos on Fremont also have lower table minimums and looser slots, so if you're a gambler and don't mind Ubering to the ceremony, this is one to consider!
