We first met at the Lake of the Ozarks during an annual friends trip. Houston had been before, but it was Catherine’s first time. She had just moved to Kansas City and was ready for a weekend filled with sunshine, swimming, boating, games, and some day drinking on the lake.
Somewhere in the middle of all that we ended up spending the entire weekend getting to know each other. One of the first things we bonded over was that we were both originally from Minnesota; a small but meaningful connection that made the conversations flow even easier.
After the trip ended, neither of us wanted the weekend to be the last chapter. We continued talking, laughing, and kept finding more reasons to stay connected.
After 3 years and a couple moves, we got engaged in September 2025!
Now we can’t wait to celebrate the next milestone surrounded by the family who has supported us!
