Our story begins in the spring of 2018, when two engineering students found themselves in the same classes while studying abroad in Florence, Italy. One day, Chelsea turned to Jeff with full confidence and said, “Your name is Seth, right?” Jeff immediately laughed and replied, “No… it’s Jeff.” Little did we know that tiny, awkward, hilarious moment would be a turning point in our lives. What started as shared classes, wandering through Florence, and laughing over small mix‑ups slowly grew into something neither of us fully understood yet. But on our last day in Syracuse University, we both bawled our eyes out — convinced we'd never see each other again. Life had other plans. Jeff moved to Los Angeles. Chelsea moved to Boston. And somehow, across time zones, new jobs, and the uncertainty of early adulthood, we kept finding our way back to each other. During peak Covid, when the world felt upside down, Jeff began working remotely from Boston. He’d tell friends he was flying home “this weekend,” only to stay another week… and then another. Our friends eventually started joking that Jeff never actually left — and honestly, they weren’t wrong. Six years after that first mistaken-name moment in Florence, Jeff proposed! On September 6, 2025, in the Italian Garden at the Crane Estate in Ipswich, MA — surrounded by the kind of beauty that felt like a nod to where it all began — Jeff got down on one knee. The surprise, the joy, the moment itself… it was everything. It was truly one of the happiest days of our lives. From Florence to Boston, from growing together as friends to partners — this is our story. And it’s only just our beginning to keep having a love that encourages who we are individually and celebrates who we are together.
