How we met...

September 21, 2020

It all started during fall athlete orientation week of freshman year of college. After connecting through a mutual friend and spending a couple of weeks talking on the phone, Spencer insisted on picking Jenna up for ice cream. Despite her hesitation, how could she resist? (Well, truthfully, she didn’t get much of a choice.) Before she knew it, Spencer was at her front door, and what started as an ice cream date turned into the beginning of their story together.

The "Official" start

October 26th, 2021

Spencer showed up on a Monday evening with a bouquet of sunflowers and a plan to take Jenna out for her favorite dinner -- pasta. After a couple of hours together, he finally worked up the courage to officially ask her to be his girlfriend.

The engagement

July 4th, 2025

After almost five years together (unofficially), we spent the holiday camping in the Eagle Cap Mountains with Spencer’s brother, Payton, and his girlfriend, Riley. On the morning of the 4th, it was pouring rain. We had plans to go on a hike, so we killed some time driving around, hoping the skies would clear. When the rain didn’t let up, we decided to go anyway—without any rain gear. We were on the hunt for a waterfall, but after two miles, we turned back. Jenna was soaked, cold, and ready to be done when Spencer suddenly wandered off the trail. Eventually, she followed, giving in despite her crankiness. That's when Spencer took her hand and proposed on a ledge above the river. It wasn’t the perfect weather, but it was the perfect moment—imperfectly perfect.

The Wedding

When choosing a location that was special to us for our wedding, we knew it had to truly reflect who we are. That’s how we landed on Eastern Oregon — the place where we built our story together.
