It all started at Gardner-Webb when Jacob transferred for baseball and Kelsey was finishing her masters degree. Jacob would argue he noticed Kelsey the second she stepped on the field to take pictures at senior day. While it wasn’t until a few small encounters and four months later their story truly began. When Jacob entered a crowded room after a Saturday night football game and Kelsey was instantly drawn to his calming presence. From there they were inseparable, making an effort to see each other every weekend. On their first date, Kelsey knew Jacob was special as not many Miami boys would have their first date in an abandoned barn among the peacocks and coyotes howling in the distance. A few months after their first date, talking everyday, seeing each other on weekends, and a lot of baseball games… they made it official! Jacob stayed in Shelby that summer to play summer ball and Kelsey traveled to see every game she could. As Jacob entered his last year at school they wondered what the future would hold but continued to enjoy every moment together. After Jacob’s graduation, he traveled back home and they found a way to make little adventures throughout their long distance relationship. While flying to each other every opportunity they had, they trusted God’s plan for their relationship. Bringing us all here to Savannah to celebrate their love with all the people that have helped influence who they are today.
