Matt and Hannah met the first time at a choir retreat. They never spoke the entire weekend. Both will tell you that they were too nervous to talk with one another. Nonetheless, they continued to know each other through choir, performing in musicals, and being part of the same friend group.
On a choir trip to Nashville, TN, Matt fell in love with Belmont University and Hannah was secretly falling in love with Matt. During a performance at the Nashville Symphony Center, Matt and Hannah snuck away with a few of their friends to a small courtyard. Hannah found a fountain where she started drawing hearts. Matt joined her saying he could draw much better hearts than her. Thus began a seven year battle of who can draw better hearts.
They had liked each other from afar after meeting years earlier. One night, sitting alone in the backyard of one of their best friends’ house after her high school graduation party, Matt finally asked Hannah to go out with him. Hannah said yes; Matt played “She Said Yes” by Mumford and Sons.
The evening after Matt’s college graduation, Matt and Hannah were walking downtown Nashville, TN when Matt led her in front of the same fountain outside of the Symphony Center they had drawn hearts in before they had started dating. He got down on one knee and asked her to spend the rest of his life with him. Hannah tearfully said yes; Matt played “She Said Yes” by Mumford and Sons on the way home.
Once graduated from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, Hannah decided to move to Nashville to join Teach For America. After five years of dating long distance, Matt and Hannah could continue their relationship while finally living in the same state.
Matt and Hannah are so excited to celebrate their love with you on their wedding day!
