We first met during Paige’s visit to Lipscomb, when Bryce was helping with FCA and Kelli brought Paige along. After Logan (Kelli’s then-boyfriend) mentioned that a girl from Kentucky was visiting, Bryce may or may not have looked Paige up on Instagram ahead of time—and made sure to talk to her that day. A follow on Instagram came soon after… but despite popular belief, the rest was not history just yet. When Paige officially started at Lipscomb, we barely crossed paths—aside from the occasional hello in Allen Arena. The following semester, one of Paige’s roommates, Sydney, invited a group of friends to play pickleball. Bryce arrived a little late with a friend and noticed Paige sitting out, so he let his friend play and sat to talk with her instead. We ended up being pickleball partners the rest of the day (and went undefeated). Even then, timing wasn’t on our side. Bryce tried to get the group together again, but it never quite worked out. We even had class at the same time in the same building, where Bryce would refill his water bottle—sometimes more than once—hoping to run into Paige. Paige, being shy, did her best to avoid those encounters. After months of missed connections, Bryce finally texted (great job, Bryce). Our favorite spot quickly became the baseball tables, where we’d meet to sit and talk. After one soccer game, Bryce ran into Paige’s teammates, who asked him the important question: “When are you going to ask Paige out?” That same night, he called and asked her to dinner. Looking back, it’s clear that God was at work all along—aligning hearts, growing faith, and reminding us that His timing is always perfect. This time, the rest really was history 🤍
