We're Getting Married!

Laura's Perspective: Dan and I grew up 200 houses down from each other in Pasadena, MD. We went to school together for years, but didn't connect until senior year during an internship. We became best friends because we were able to carpool to and from work. I could tell he had a crush on me when he would offer to bring me food after going to school, working at the internship, then going to his other part time gig at Ledo Pizza. Dan is the most kind hearted and driven person I know. It may have taken a few times of him asking me to be his girlfriend (3 to be exact...) but when he proposed, it was an easy yes :) The picture below is our senior year homecoming in 2019. Daniel's Perspective: The summer of 2019 was a challenging time, as it involved several months of completing paperwork, interviewing, and waiting to hear back about a critical internship that led me to where I am today. Given my family's background, with my mother from Germany and my father from China, it was clear why it took longer for me to learn my internship status compared to my friends. When I got the internship and dressed in professional work clothes for new employee orientation day, I was immediately drawn to Laura and her silly jokes; it was obvious she could make a crowd laugh, maintain professionalism, and be knowledgeable, all while looking adorable. After our first few days of attending the new employee orientation, even though I went to high school with Laura, I didn't really know who she was until we became close friends through this internship, commuting to and from school to work, and then hanging out nearly every day. Laura and I maintained a very close relationship before I finally asked her out; she said yes (after a few attempts), and now we're here.
