FAQs

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Come dance the night away with us wearing cocktail attire! We suggest men wear a suit or dress shirt with a tie and women wear midi or knee-length dresses or dressy seperates. Ladies, please note that the ceremony is at a campground with some uneven terrain. We encourage you to wear whatever footwear you find agreeable, but sandals, wedges, and booties may be more comfortable than stiletto heels!

Question

What is the parking situation?

Answer

The parking area at the campground is large, and space should not be an issue! However, we do recommend car-pooling for ease of transport. Please note that the road down to the ceremony area is not paved, but is well-maintained, and should be accessible for all vehicles. Parking at the Silverthorne Town Center is limited, but with some public parking available. If there are no spaces remaining, there are several parking locations near the venue. Please access the following links for detailed information on parking at the ceremony and reception venues: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1F7u6ZIIUMsQqYN3Nb3bmgXzPPKmF6urZYG9lVT-4uWI/edit?usp=sharing https://www.silverthornepavilion.com/venue-information/pavilion-parking If you are staying nearby in town it may be easy to walk to the venue from your hotel, please ensure you have a safe and sober ride home! If you need to leave your vehicle in the pavilion lot overnight, ask the bartender for a overnight parking pass, place it on your dash and pick up the vehicle by 10 am on Friday.

Question

How should I prepare for the altitude?

Answer

Silverthorne is located at roughly 9000 feet in elevation. For our out of state guests, here are a few things to keep in mind: -Dehydration occurs faster at altitude, and Colorado is known for its drier climate. Please drink plenty of water! - Go easy on the pace of drinking. Alcohol will hit you harder at elevation, the general rule is 2 drinks at sea level = 1 drink at elevation. - Wear sunscreen. The air is thinner in Colorado, so the sun's rays have less atmosphere to pass through before it hits your skin. That with the 300+ days of sunshine we get, you may end up burnt! - If possible, consider acclimating at lower elevations the night before you drive into the mountains. Denver sits at about 5000 ft of elevation.

Question

What to expect for weather?

Answer

While our reception will be located indoors, our ceremony will take place outside with beautiful mountain views, please plan for outdoor weather conditions. August is generally a sunny month with average temperatures in the low-mid 70s, but could be as high as 80s. The Windy Point campground, as its name suggests, is known for being windy. Please prepare accordingly. For those with longer hair, consider wearing it up.

Question

How long should I stay?

Answer

Stay as long or as little as you'd like! We will be staying at an Airbnb in Silverthorne from Wednesday 8/20/25 - Sunday 8/24/25 and would love to see friends and family who wish to spend extra time in Colorado. If you are in the state before Wednesday, feel free to reach out to us if you'd like to get together!
