Andrew and Emma met while working together at the after-school program at the Grove City YMCA during their senior year. After they got to know each other a little bit at the Y, Andrew invited Emma to watch a Marvel movie after work with some friends. Once he realized that she had some major gaps in her Marvel history, they began a series of movie marathons before the release of Infinity War. Fast forward to graduation week and Andrew realized he had to make a real move. So he pulled out all the stops by taking her for a free Frosty and fries at Wendys. The line: "I don't know if you've noticed, but I kind of like you." Her response, "I noticed."

Emma spent the summer after graduation working in Maine. She and Andrew talked regularly on FaceTime while she was away, but they hadn't made things official. When Emma had a long weekend off of work, Andrew decided to surprise her by flying out to Maine to visit. Then he asked her out on the Fourth of July underneath the fireworks! They spent the first days of their relationship hiking and exploring Acadia National Park.

Andrew and Emma love spending time together outdoors. So naturally Andrew wanted to take her on a scenic trip to propose. What better way to do that than climbing a 12,968 ft mountain in Colorado and proposing at the top? After a tough climb, which included rock climbing, hail, and rain, they made it safely to the summit. After they caught their breath, Andrew got on one knee and asked Emma if she would marry him. And she said yes!
