We met at Waynesburg University in 2013! David was studying finance and Ashley was working towards her bachelors degree in accounting. This meant we were in the same classes! We always helped each other in the areas we struggled with and became to realize we make a really good team. We would both love to watch each other play the sports we loved so much, football and softball. We also loved to be active so in football off season we would workout and run together, I even got David to throw softball with me a few times! Our relationship blossomed over the next few months. It came so natural to us to always be around each other and having fun. So on July 4th, 2014 after we attended a Pittsburgh Pirates game David asked me to be his girlfriend by writing it on a souvenir baseball he got from the gift shop!

In December of 2019 infront of all my family at our Christmas party David got down on one knee! We have a tradition of getting a custom ornament each year with our names and the year so we can watch our family grow. This particular year I had asked David to surprise me with it and pick one out. He got a gorgeous glass heart made and written on the heart was "Ashley will you marry me? Love, David 2019." He handed the little bag to Santa to hand out my gift to me. I think the whole family started crying at that moment. I opened the bag and read the message out loud. David then got down on one knee and that year for Christmas I got the greatest gift possible, my best friend for the rest of our lives!
