We met online through Bumble, where I, Brittany, knew that was the last place I'd find a man! But worth a shot & I'm glad I did! It wasn't long that we matched & started speaking that I made it clear I wanted to meet sooner rather than later. Our first date was at Eli's in Evans, Ga where he told me a head of time, that due to an injury, he would be in sweatpants. I now know that was his everyday wardrobe and somehow he got away with wearing it on a first date. Luckily, his smile captured my attention more than his sweatpants. We had great conversation and his adventurous spirit had me excited to learn more. And the rest was the beginning of my greatest love story.
For my dad's 60th birthday, I wanted to take him skydiving, as it was something both him & I had always wanted to do. Of course Michael had to do it as well, but had to go solo because jumping out of a plane with someone strapped to his back just wasn't thrilling enough. My brother-in-law had also never been and wanted to go as well. So my whole family went to Skydive Atlanta to jump out of a plane. The weather was pretty windy and overcast that day so when it was time for us to jump, they made that call that all solo jumper (Michael) would need to reschedule, but those going tandem were still able to jump since they have an experienced jumper with them. Michael was very chill about it and I was so confused why he wasn't more bummed out that he wasn't able to jump. **I now know it was because he was stressing about how he was going to get on the ground before me to propose** Michael had not told anyone that he was going to propose when I landed, other than the instructor that was going to tandem with me. In fact, my dad and brother-in-law did not find out until they landed & my mom and sister found out when we were in the air. I was the first one out of the plane but the last one to land and I didn't think anything about it. Once we land, the instructor unhooked me and I got up to give Michael a hug. With my family surrounded & before I could even get a hug, he dropped to his knee and just then I realize this was the moment I had been praying for. I was so emotional... like the worst ugly cry, but so incredible excited that I will get to marry the best man I could ever dream up.
