Located directly across from our ceremony site, the glass walls of this botanical garden are a stunning view! Phipp's would be the perfect place to wander before the ceremony or between events.
Two museums, in the same building, located on Pitt's campus. Together they house art spanning movements and centuries, a collection of ancient architecture, famous dinosaur bones, a huge archive of gemstones, and a wide variety of animal specimens. We have spent countless date nights exploring these exhibits!
The defining building of the University of Pittsburgh, The Cathedral of Learning stands tall over Pitt's campus and holds the title of the tallest educational building in the western hemisphere. Guided and Self-Guided tours are available inside the main floor to give you a look into the history of The Cathedral (locally known as "Cathy") and it's 31 individually decorated Nationality Rooms.
A 15 minute walk from the Ceremony, Mario's is a college staple for the University of Pittsburgh crowd. Great for a bite to eat, a Yuengling, or a Shot Wheel if you're feeling wild.
Our favorite cocktail bar in the city. Tina's is located in Bloomfield, situated between the Ceremony and Reception location. Tina's has an eclectic, warm energy and their knowledgeable staff make a wide range of classic, historic cocktails. Try the Milk Punch, or Brittany's favorite- an Army and Navy!
Located in Lawrenceville, a short drive from the Reception, this sports bar perfect for a no frills drink in between events.
An area that was a hub for food production, The Strip has remained a great spot for food and culture. Explore Penn Ave. for restaurants, local businesses and kitschy souvenirs or pop over to Smallman St. and see the new Terminal building with local and chain businesses.
This is the bookstore where Brittany has worked part-time for the past 3 years! Located in the Terminal Building in the Strip District, Posman's has a great collection of books and knick knacks. They work with Odd Fellows Ice Cream, so you can get a scoop while you browse!
Our favorite coffee shop in the city. They have a wide variety of beans for sale and make an incredible cup of coffee. Located in the Strip District, near Mullaney's Harp and Fiddle (welcome drinks). Though the shop doesn't have seating available, the Terminal building offers plenty of spots to sit and sip. Check out their specials, cold brews, and scented candles!
This classic Pittsburgh eatery is famous for it's on-the-go sandwich for Truck drivers- complete with coleslaw and french fries. A whole lunch between slices of local Mancini's Italian Bread. Located in The Strip District, Oakland, and Downtown.
Our favorite Italian food in the Strip District. The pasta and pizza are incredible and the gelato is the best way to end your meal, even after a full plate of Cacio e Pepe.
Schenley Park is a community and nature spot in Squirrel Hill. Will loves to play a round of frisbee golf with a great view at the Schenley Park Overlook, and our favorite walking trail is Bridle Trail (best access is from the address linked below!)
Our favorite date night is shopping and dinner on Forbes Ave. in Squirrel Hill. It houses used books, new books, shoes, consignment clothing, the best game store in Pittsburgh, boba, and more! Around the corner is the Manor Theater, a small theater offering the best movies out right now.
Around the corner from our apartment is THE bagel spot in Pittsburgh. Specializing in classic Kosher bagels, these are the best bagels you can get this side of Pennsylvania. Don't be deterred by the long line! It moves fast and IS that good.
Our favorite restaurant! We've ordered so much Garlic Basil Chicken we've lost count! Located in our current neighborhood, Squirrel Hill.
