Yes, the wedding attire is beach formal. Even though the dress code is listed as "formal", feel free to opt out of the blazer since it will be really warm. We recommend wearing sweat-wicking fabrics, such as linen shirts or "guayaberas." For the ladies, please take into consideration that the venue is largely staged on sand; therefore, we recommend shoes that allow you to walk on it. For example, wedges or thick heels.

Nicaragua accepts dollars, but the exchange rate of dollars to cordobas is around $1 = C$36-37. Hacienda Iguana is very flexible with payment methods, including cards and tap-to-pay for most spots, but we recommend carrying some cash, just in case.

There are no ride-share platforms operating in Hacienda Iguana or its surroundings, but the distances are very walkable. Golf carts are available to rent (please refer to the Things To Do & Local Transportation tab for more details), and we will be providing transportation to and from the wedding.

When traveling with a passport, citizens of the U.S., Canada and EU countries may stay in Nicaragua for 90 days. No visa is necessary for travelers from the U.S., Canada and Western Europe. Citizens from some Latin American, Asian, African and Eastern European countries may require visas, which can be obtained at a Nicaraguan Consulate. Please reach out to Horacio or Victoria if you have any doubts about your needs to enter Nicaragua. Also, all tourists need to pay a $10 entry fee at the airport (cash only, no change).
Nicaragua is six hours behind Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) and has no daylight saving time, during which time it is seven hours behind Greenwich. There is little seasonal variation at dawn (approximately 6:00 a.m.) and dusk (approximately 6:00 p.m.).
It is illegal to bring drones into Nicaragua and if customs finds it they will hold it at the airport until you depart and charge a “storage fee” so we highly suggest not bringing your drone with you.
