Matron of Honor
Emily and Jennifer have been tight since the first day of Kindergarten at Linden Elementary School. On the first day of Ms. Goeringer's class, Emily, Jennifer, and Lisa all discovered their love of make believe and blocks. Their childhood was full of memorable sleepovers, birthday parties (where Jennifer always decapitated the poor pinata), and cheerleading. Their friendship truly blossomed in adulthood, especially when Emily moved to Richmond while Jennifer was in DC.

Emily and Lisa go way back to the summer before kindergarten where they took swimming lessons at the Oak Ridge Country Club pool. They were VERY excited to see each other on the first day at Linden Elementary School and brought a sweet redhead into their trio (Jennifer!) Throughout elementary, middle, and high school, Emily and Lisa were pretty much inspirable. When they were small, Emily and Lisa loved to try and convince people they were twins and would often dress a like on school days. As they got older, they explored all sorts of interests together: dance, cheerleading, basketball, and Girl Scouts. They drifted apart for a few years as adults, but they picked up right where they left off.

Emily and Amanda weren't always best friends. In fact, when Emily first met Amanda on AOII Bid Day at Ole Miss, she thought she didn't like her. The more they hung out at the sorority house and in their dorm (BROWN TOWN!) the more they bonded over their love of New Orleans, 2000s hip hop, and just full-on shenanigans. To say that evenings with Emily and Amanda were unpredictable would be an understatement. Throughout their time at Ole Miss, Emily and Amanda went on countless road trips to NOLA, made memories in The Grove (we remember most of them...), and helped each other find ourselves in a place so far from our own homes.

Emily and Carsie were meant to be friends. There is just no other way to describe it. Before Matt and Emily met, Matt was good friends with Carsie and her husband Kelly. Through their love of Pokemon, the foursome would often meet up several times a week to be super-nerds around Richmond. These meet-ups became longer and longer and eventually ended up as a weekly Friday Hang. During COVID, these Fridays were our way to feel some sense of normalcy. We never expected to become family, but we did. Emily and Carsie have a similar zest for life and truly push each other to become the best friend, partner, and mom (step mom) we can be.

Emily and McKenna have always had a very special relationship. McKenna was Emily's first niece and they have had many adventures at the beach, mountains, and in blanket forts. They have spend many hours scream-singing Disney songs in the car and performing GoNoodle dances for family during holidays. Emily is THRILLED that McKenna has taken an interest in her American Girl dolls! She will always be her Mimi's special girl!
